The very authentic village of Grand-Naves is the door which opens onto a huge wild area. Ideal for lovers of adventure and natural mountainside. The valley of Naves offers a whole range of slopes and itineraries. In the winter : ski trekking and snowshoeing (Quermoz, Dzonfié, Grand Crétet), a marked-out and made-safe cross country ski area, adventure raids with a dog sleigh, fun tobogganing area. In the summer : walks and treks on foot, M.T.B., parapente (on the site of Bozon), rock climbing (the Foyères Rock), fauna, flora and heritage discovery.
The restaurant room of « Chez Fred's » is an old stable, entirely vaulted with visible stone and open fireplace. Theme evenings in the summer and winter seasons provide a very friendly atmosphere. A limited range of food available throughout the day and group menu (10 people minimum), mixed grills on the open fireplace, home made “gratin daphinois”, traditional Savoyard cheese fondue, home made “tartiflette”, beef pie, local sausages with polenta, home made cured meats. In a lovely park on the banks of a stream, the bar has a boule game, a ping pong table and two terraces, one of which is south facing with a magnificent view of the Col de la Madeleine and the Lauzière mountain range.
