Nordic Activities
Situated on the sunny side of the Beaufortain, Naves is the highest cross country skiing area in « Nordic Savoy ».
43 km of skating and traditional pistes are spread over two plains. The first, ideal for learning and near the village of Grand-Naves, and the second, that of the Grands Plans offers numerous circuits between an altitude of 1610 m and 1800 m. It also gives access to Bozon, a snow shoe, dog sleigh and ski trekking area.
At the entrance to the village, the Naves Maison de la Montagne is the cross country skiing centre (equipment rental and sale of area access badges).
In Valmorel, 20 km of marked-out itineraries leave from Les Avanchers and go towards the Empyrée and Pierre Laron. The style here is more Alpine and access is free.
From Valmorel, access to the pistes is by free shuttle buses. In Doucy-Combelouvière, 4 km of free itineraries provide an alternative to the joys of walking and snow shoe outings.

Practical information :
- Events organised Wednesdays and Fridays,
- Reservation and mandatory 24 hours in advance to the French Ski School,
- Snowshoes, head lamps and torches provided,
- Walking time approx. 1 hour before and 30mim. after dinner,
- Dinner in the resturant "Le Prariond " or l'Aigle Blanc.
Personal equipment tobring along :
- Boots if possible,
- Winter sportwear for snow (warm trousers, ski jacket),
- Gloves, caps,
- Your own ski poles,
- and your good spirits !!
