DO YOU ENJOY CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING?

Discover the Nordic areas of the Aigueblanche Valleys

A wide variety of accessible trails, spread over three sectors!
From beginners to advanced skiers, come and practice classic or skating cross-country skiing on our marked trails.

Nâves Nordic Area

Backing onto the Beaufortain mountain range, the Nâves valley (45mn drive from Valmorel or Doucy) is one of those few havens of peace and tranquillity that still remain in the heart of the Alps.  Here, mountain pastures, forests, streams and the sound of nature all shape the landscape and create the atmosphere.

The Nordic site, labelled Nordic France, is open from 9 December, 2023 to 1st April, 2024 and offers 42km of cross-country ski trails (classic and skating) groomed every day and secured.

The Bozon slope gives access to the Carrolet loop (2085m altitude) which allows you to ski on the highest slope in Savoie, with a magnificent panorama of the Vanoise, Lauzière and Beaufortain mountain ranges.

The start of the slopes is 4 km upstream from the village of Grand Nâves, at the Plateau du Tovet, where you will find all the necessary facilities: heated non-sack room, sofas, toilets, drinking water, lockers, picnic tables, deckchairs, lockers.

Access by free shuttle bus at weekends and during French school holidays

Ski passes are on sale at the Maison de la Montagne, in the village of Grand-Nâves.

Valmorel area

From the resort of Valmorel, one itinerary (circuit n°4, Nordic itinerary map on sale at the Tourist Office or on our online shop for 3€) not secured but marked and groomed regularly and can be practised in “skating” cross country skiing.

Below Valmorel (accessible by car or free shuttles), at the end of the village of La Charmette, go to the Aigle Blanc car park to start on circuits 7, 8 and 9 which can be practised in “skating” or classic cross-country skiing (regularly marked rails).
Far from the crowds, the Bachals and Pierre Laron shelters offer a protected area for lovers of peace and nature! Cross-country skiing on these routes is free and open access, under your own responsibility. There are no Nordic ski lessons in this area.

Please note that the condition of these routes is highly dependent on the weather; please check with the Tourist Office to find out whether these routes are passable and whether there is a risk of avalanche. These itineraries are mixed (snowshoers, hikers, skiers, dog sledders, fatbikers, etc.); please respect other users.

New!
A free shuttle service has been set up between La Léchère-les-Bains, Aigueblanche and Valmorel.
