There are 11 signposted circuits in the Morel Valley, which can be enjoyed on foot or snow-shoes, by Nordic walking, classic cross-country skiing, skating, ski touring … Walking and hiking enthusiasts, of which there are more and more every season, will be delighted! Regularly maintained and groomed, these Nordic itineraries are represented on a map sold for 3 € at our Tourist offices or directly on the internet via our on-line store. Please take note of the weather conditions, follow the itinerary markings (purple signs) and be aware that you are walking on these trails at your own risk.
From the resort of Valmorel, 3 Nordic itineraries start, including one reserved for ski touring.
Whether it is to join your friends at the top of the slopes, to descend further down the valley to discover the villages of Les Avanchers-Valmorel, or to go to Celliers or Doucy, you will have plenty to occupy your entire week’s holiday!
Far from the crowds, the shelters of Les Bachals and Pierre Laron are preserved places for lovers of peace and nature!
These are 2 walking circuits that start in Doucy, one of which can take you either to Celliers or Valmorel.
Enjoy the Grande Fôret areas to start gently on a relatively flat route.
Going up towards the top of the Combelouvière chairlift, enjoy your picnic at the free access barbecue installed at the Cabane du Loup while admiring the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains!
Backing onto the Beaufortain mountain range, the Nâves valley is one of those few havens of peace and tranquillity that still remain in the heart of the Alps. Here, mountain pastures, forests, streams and the sound of nature all shape the landscape and create the atmosphere.
Accessible by shuttle bus from the village of Grand-Naves, the Tovet plateau opens onto more than 40 km of marked-out cross-country ski tracks that are maintained daily.
The Bozon slope gives access to the Carrolet loop (2085m altitude) which allows you to ski on the highest slope in Savoie, with a magnificent panorama of the Vanoise, Lauzière and Beaufortain mountain ranges.
Ski passes are on sale at the Maison de la Montagne, in the village of Grand-Nâves.
