Located near the Parc de la Vanoise in Savoie, Le Grand Domaine includes the resorts of Valmorel, Saint-François-Longchamp, Doucy and Celliers. A sunny ski area with 165km of pistes.

165km of slopes !

Between forests, gentle alpine meadow slopes and steeper slopes at the summits, the Grand Domaine gives you the opportunity to enjoy a varied playground accessible to all levels of skiers. Young and old can easily cross the Col de la Madeleine on skis with a simple “blue slope”.

A true paradise for lovers of ski touring and off-piste, a huge variety of breathtaking landscapes between pine trees and high mountains.

Discover the fun area of Valmorel with areas including a boardercross, snowparks or the Pirates’ village with its week-long entertainment!

4 zones spread over the ski area, where beginners can learn to ski in complete safety and tranquillity.

4 Freeride areas

Black or Red level

The Freeride areas are secure yet ungroomed areas for thrill seekers and powder snow lovers. Don’t wait to discover the 4 zones:

  • The Gollet freeride
  • The Mottet freeride
  • The Riondet freeride
  • The Procureuse freeride

All these areas are outlined in yellow on the Valmorel piste map.

No need to get out your smartphone any longer or to take off your gloves or mittens in this Arctic cold – Valmorel has installed 2 photo systems for you in the resort livery!

Sitting on one of the famous Mottet chairlift’s old seats at an altitude of 2400m, all you have to do is show your lift pass to the terminal and wait for the 4 beeps then smile at the camera on the pylon just in front of you! In the background of your photo: an outstanding panoramic view of Mont-Blanc from the Mottet Photo Point and a stunning view of the Lauzière massif from the Arenouillaz Photo Point…

No need to choose the official group photograph any longer, Valmorel will do everything for you!

What’s new?

The ski area is being modernised! 

The Biollène chairlift is getting a makeover, with a new 6-seater detachable lift! Less waiting and more comfort to enjoy the slopes in complete safety!

A little extra: the installation of this new device only involves companies based in Savoie!

Recharge your smartphone on the slopes!

No battery left on your phone? No problem! The new charging stations for smartphones installed on the slopes will allow you to recharge your phone while continuing to ski 😉

3 mobile phone recharging stations will be at your disposal:

At the top of the Pierrafort gondola
At the bottom of the new Biollène chairlift
At the top of the Altispace chairlift, next to the new zip line

Improvement of the Malatrai beginners’ area

The Malatrai beginners’ area is being upgraded with the covering of the Roches Blanches carpet. This area allows you to enjoy a superb view of the surrounding
peaks while being in a place adapted for people who
wish to learn to ski.
