Essaonia invites you to discover Hydrospeed Whitewater Swimming.
A downhill swim in White Water (hydrospeed) is a moment of pure freshness and adrenaline! Come into direct contact with the current, feel its power and play with the waves and its rollers on the river.
Several courses are offered:
The Initiation Course - 7 kilometres (minimum age 14)
Takes place on the Isère in the Tarentaise Valley, between Aime and Centron.
After the guides' briefing, we set out for a 7-kilometre descent on the most beautiful part of the river: The relative calm of the first section provides a good warm-up, allowing everyone to feel at ease and familiarise themselves with how to use the flippers to propel themselves and direct the float.
After passing through the Gorge de la Pucelle with its vertical cliffs, it's time for the serious stuff on the last section of the route: the Rapids of Centron, about 2 kilometres of class IV rapids where you will experience the thrills of white water and apply all the techniques you learned on the top of the course: surfing in the rollers, slaloming between the rocks, crossing the waves, etc ...
A beautiful descent to discover white water swimming on the most bucolic part of the Isère.
The Advanced Course - 12 kilometres (minimum age 16)
Takes place on the Isère in the valley of Tarentaise. The course is reserved for people who have already practiced the activity and are in good physical condition.
After only 2 kilometers of warm-up, the descent 'cuts to the chase' with the Aime Rapids: 2.5 kilometres of class IV! The rapids follow one from another without interruption; the rhythm is insistent and the trajectories must be precise. A beautiful section for experiencing the river from within!
The river then calms down up to les Gorges de la Pucelle. This quieter strtch allows you to recover before launching into the last section of rapids: The Rapids of Centron (class III/IV) provide a beautiful finish to this descent of more than 3 hours! Without a doubt, one of the most intense hydrospeed descents in the French Alps!
To take part in the Hydrospeed activity, you must be able to swim.
For all your Hydrospeed descents:
all technical equipment is provided.
supervision is provided by state-certified professional guides ("Hydrospeed in whitewater").
Technical transport related to the activity is included in the proposed tariff.
Hot and cold drinks are offered before AND after the activity.
