The Mad’Bike returns to Valmorel for a 3rd edition in the heart of summer!
On the weekend of 19 & 20 August 2023, the AUVERGNE-RHONE-ALPES REGIONAL ENDURO MTB CHAMPIONSHIP will be held in Valmorel and the Aigueblanche Valleys.
Launched in 2021, the Mad'Bike will once again offer a rich and lively programme to the delight of enthusiasts and spectators.
The competition will be more ENDURO oriented and will offer a range of courses that will highlight the diversity of the site.
You will be greeted by the traditional Welcome bag, which is well known and accompanies each event in Valmorel. Activities for the general public, kids' races, initiations and other festivities will be part of the weekend.
The access to the ski lifts will be free during the whole weekend!
PROGRAMME
• Saturday: kids' races and prologue in the resort of Valmorel
• Sunday: 5 timed special stages in the mountain bike area
#1 - 3,3 km and 500m of negative altitude difference
#2 - 2,1 km and 500m of negative altitude difference
#3 - 3,6 km and 480m of negative altitude difference
#4 - 1.5 km and 350m of negative elevation gain
#5 - 3 km and 400 meters of negative elevation gain
Race open to both licensed and non-licensed runners.
COURSE
Valmorel embodies the spirit and art of mountain living, a strong character crowned with simplicity and tradition. Stone and wood chalets, slate roofs, trompe l'oeil facades..., the architecture blends harmoniously with the surrounding wild landscapes.
In a very welcoming natural setting, the mountain bike domain has several undeniable assets to fully enjoy this site on two wheels. The event's routes wind through mountain pastures and forests up to 2,000 m in altitude. But many other routes will criss-cross mineral peaks, torrents, grandiose landscapes and traditional activities.
